Nicaraguan Caribbean Quest

The Caribbean Coast of Nicaragua is one of the last frontiers of truly wild fishing left in Central America and we are proud to offer you the opportunity to go and experience this amazing destination for yourself. PISCATOURS has teamed up with the native Miskito people who call this area home and have just built a brand new lodge right in the heart of this fishing paradise.
There are many lush jungle rivers, estuaries and lagoons which are home to some of the biggest Tarpon in the world alongside Snook, Jack Crevalles and world class Rainbow Bass. As if that wasn't enough, then a short run offshore you can find pristine flats where Permit and Bonefish will test your sight fishing skills. These flats give way to reefs and ledges where King Mackerel, Barracuda, Grouper and Snapper roam. The Caribbean Coast of Nicaragua really has it all and you can come and enjoy it with us at this brand new lodge.
This is a true multi-species location that ticks all the boxes for the discerning travelling angler, both culturally and piscatorially. Fly, lure or livebait; you can do it all here under the careful guidance of the Miskito people who have been fishing these waters for generations. This is a real wilderness adventure; so what are you waiting for?
LET'S GO!

FISH SPECIES
Tarpon, Snook, Jacks, Rainbow Bass, Machaca, Permit, Bonefish, Triggerfish, Barracuda, Goliath Grouper, Cobia, King Mackerel, Snappers.
SEASON
February through May offer the best of the weather and fishing along the Caribbean Coast. The Tarpon can be found year round but the bigger fish tend to show during the spring months.
THE FISHING
With such a great variety of fish to target then it pays to be flexible in your approach to the fishing here. The majority of anglers tend to fish with fly and lure as this offers a truly sporting way in which to target species such as the Tarpon, Jacks, Snook, Bonefish and Permit. However, the guides will gladly collect livebait for you too. Trolling has it's place also if you wish to target the King Mackerel, Barracuda, Cobia and Snappers off the ledges.
We fish from traditional fibreglass pangas that are common in that part of the world with 2 anglers per boat, plus your guide. Sometimes when fishing the flats then we will exit the boats to wade and fish.

THE LODGE
The lodge was completed in 2025 and is built right on the bank of the river where you can watch Tarpon rolling from the balcony! There are 6 private rooms, 3 bathrooms, a communal eating area , kitchen and chill out area with hammocks to soak up the view. Its a simple timber construction that is in tune with its environment and provides a perfect base to call home for the duaration of the trip. All the rooms have fans to keep you cool, mosquito nets and there are sockets to charge your devices as well as Starlink internet to keep in touch with the outside world if you wish.
THE FOOD
You'll be served 3 meals a day while at the lodge all cooked up in the local Miskito style using fresh ingredients such as lobster, shrimp, fresh fish, crab, pork, chicken and beef. There are also snacks and a selection of tropical fruits available to you at all times. Beers, juices, sodas and water are also included along with a touch of the famous Flor de Caña local rum!

WHO IS THIS TRIP FOR?
This trip is for adventurous anglers looking for a personal fishing experience with a difference, hosted by the indigenous people of Nicaraguas Caribbean coast. The family takes great care of us. It's rustic and real with access to some magnificent fishing and a great diversity of sport fishing species. The environment is wild and stunning offering some great opportunities all within a short distance of the lodge. There are not many places where you can find such variety all available from one location, such is the appeal. This trip is well organised and is a refreshing change from other more corporate locations. The family live in tune with the environment and provide a service, food and experience that reflects this. Its an experience not to be missed!
