The Biggest Roosterfish in the Americas?
There is a hidden gem tucked away along the palm fringed shores of the Azuero Peninsula in Panama where truly monstrous Roosterfish roam. Here, in the protected waters surrounding the small fishing village of Pedasi, you have the chance of encountering record breaking Roosters. The local fishing association banned the use of nets 25 years ago and the small commercial fleet of pangas fish with handlines or rod and reel only. Every year these bountiful waters produce some staggering fish that regularly rock the record books, thanks to the conservation minded attitude of the local fishermen.
In recent seasons, the biggest recorded Roosterfish (seen in the above photo) measured in at a whopping 144 cm long. This fish destroyed the current IGFA Length Record for the species which stands at 136 cm. Every season, the waters off of Pedasi throw up specimens of this calibre. They are out there and this is THE place!
There are no marinas here, no docks and no fleet of fancy sport fishing boats. This is an untouched, lightly fished area where you take to the water in our custom built Panga and launch from the beach in the age old tradition as the locals have for centuries. This is a real fishing adventure.....
ARE YOU READY?
FISHING SEASON: May through November offers you the best chances of catching a really big Roosterfish. The big ones come close to shore during the green season when they can be found hunting the large shoals of bluerunners along the coast.
TECHNIQUES: Fishing with livebait, throwing poppers and stickbaits, jig fishing.
BOAT: You will be fishing from a custom designed 22ft panga which fishes a maximum of 3 anglers. The boat is kitted out with all the necessary safety gear, Garmin sonar and electronics, Yamaha Enduro 60hp motor, T-top for shade and comfort, plenty of rod holders, storage and a spacious casting platform. It's the perfect inshore fishing machine.
OPERATOR: You will be hosted by FISH PEDASi (our sister company) and guided by Sam himself on the water.

WHO IS THIS TRIP FOR?
This trip is for saltwater anglers that love active fishing styles such as popping and jigging alongside fishing livebaits for trophy fish. There are so many different species available in Panama that there is rarely a dull moment on the water. FISH PEDASi have been bringing anglers into Panama for the last 8 years so have everything set up to ensure you have a smooth trip on every level. The accommodation is comfortable with AC and swimming pools so you can relax in style at the end of the day. The lazy little village of Pedasi is also very safe and welcoming to visting anglers ensuring that you'll have as great time while you're there!
YOUR ACCOMMODATION
You will stay in one of 3 local hotels depending on their availability and the package includes shared room accommodation with all members of the group sharing a large room with ensuite bathroom. All rooms have either 2 or 3 beds in them. Extra rooms can be provided for a fee of $90 per night if you do not want to share and require separate rooms.
All hotels have wifi, aircon, private bathrooms and swimming pools with a bar/restaurant attached. They are all located in the village just a few minutes walk from all the amenities, bars, stores and restaurants.

ITINERARY & RATE

Day 1 - Arrive in Panama City, meet your Piscatours representative and head on over to your hotel for the night with our driver.

Day 2 - After breakfast at your hotel you'll be picked up by our driver and taken to Pedasi with stops for coffee/lunch. Its a 4.5 hour run. Check in to your Pedasi Hotel followed by a 'meet & greet' with Sam.

Day 3 to 7 - 5 full days of guided fishing.

Day 8 - After breakfast you'll be picked up and taken back to Tocumen International Airport for your late afternoon/evening flight home.

You will be personally hosted and guided by Sam, the owner of PISCATOURS
